Ask “what”.

To ask “what”, put なんnan where the answer will go.「何」を聞くときは、答えが入る場所に「なん」を入れます。

Put なんnan (“what”) where the answer will go, and end with ですかdesu ka. English moves “what” to the front; Japanese doesn't. Answer with just your name or your job and ですdesu: no さんsan, and no word for “your”.

教え方のヒント知りたいところに なん を入れ、最後は「ですか」です。答えは名前と です だけで、自分の名前なので さん は付けません。 同じ形で仕事を聞きます。答えは仕事のことばと です だけで、「しごと は」はくり返さなくて大丈夫です。

なんnan goes where the answer will be. The word order does not change.
